Euthanasia

Q. If the patient cna't decide for themselves whether to die or not, who should have the right or the responsibility to do it for them : the spouse, the parents, the children, the siblings, the ex-spouse, the boyfriend/girlfriend or life-partner, the doctors, the courts, or the State? 

     In my opinion, it is dependent on the decision of the doctors and laws whether or not of the euthanasia. The reason is that the doctors have ability to diagnose about patient's condition. According to their reasonable diagnosis, it can make an important effect whether the law accept the euthanasia or not. The law regulate the standard judgement of the euthanasia. People who engaged in law are have a rationality. They legislate the law based on only stastics and report. If their family or spouse of the patient decide the euthanasia, they will feel guilty and this memory will remain in their head for all their life. Even if the doctors also are human and not cool-head person, they will not feel guilty as much as the family or lover of the patient. Also, they can think themselves like that they deserve to decide that based on the law and diagnosis.  

How to be a good wait staff

     These days, customer service is getting more important comparing to the past. It means that the attitude of wait staffs became playing a bigger role. According to how excellent they provide services to customers, people can evaluate the quality of restaurants. In other words, wait staffs’ services are responsible for a great part of giving positive images. The owner of restaurant must train their staffs so that they form well-arranged atmosphere of restaurant. The wait staffs have to be taught some basic tip and manner for customers.

    First, they should greet and pay polite attention to customers. Even if something wrong happened at the back of house, wait staffs have to maintain smiling face and feign calmness. Second, they have to know all items of menu list so that they could memorize easily and it will prevent them from making an order mistakes. Also, they should do one thing at a time. It means when you are trying to do several things at once, some mistakes could happen in wrong. In order to finish order completely, you have to focus on your customer and do quickly just one task. Third, wait staffs should concentrate on customers’ face of their table. Through doing like that, wait staffs can recognize whether customer need something or not. It will be helpful for them to make a nice server and get positive image to restaurant. Next, wait staffs should not assume that the diner finished. It makes them cause a kind of rude mistakes. Including me, when wait staffs ask if my dinner is finished or not, I feel like that server is too mean to stand until finishing the dinner. They have to learn that they make an effort to distinguish customers’ needs from their faces.

     Conclusively, if you follow all these steps, at least you won’t make a serious mistake and get in a trouble. Most importantly, wait staffs must check back with their table all the time when they work as a server.

The most embarrassing accident in US

     The terrible accident happened to me in Ann Arbor where it is small university town in Michigan. As far as I remember, that time was the season of basketball’s national championship. The basketball team of University of Michigan went into the finals defeating the opponent. It was beyond people’s expectation because it had happened for around 100 years.
     A lot people were excited about this happening and all of them were looking forward that the team of U of M would win the game. So, the finals game was coming, my friends and I had made a decision to watch the final game all together before that. On the day in question we reached the most popular bar of Ann Arbor at 6:00pm. Unfortunately, even though we thought  that we came earlier than usual days, but there were over crowded. The reason was why a lot of students wanted to watch the final game with drinking beer and eating tasty foods. However, we had to wait for extra seats in front of door because we were supposed to meet other friends at 8:00 pm inside that bar. We were waiting for 2 hours with standing outside. Nevertheless, they couldn’t provide some seats for us, thus we couldn’t but move to another bar. This was the beginning of the disaster of mine.
     Therefore, we arrived at the another bar. We ordered a kind of bar foods including the cook of chicken ribs’. After ordering, the final game started. So, we watched game with complete concentration and ate foods. When I ate ribs’ dish, suddenly I felt pain at my tooth. I noticed that something happened to my moral tooth. I quite quickly ran to the restroom and I found that my moral tooth was broken. Actually, I couldn’t recognize that ribs’ dish was chicken’s rib. I just mistook that as pig’s rib. So, I didn’t focus on very tiny bones. That accident screwed up that day, I felt depressed because I really worried about my tooth and the medical bill. Moreover, the U of M was lost by the team Boston on that day.
     After that happened to me I couldn’t eat well for 3 days. I asked to family dentist of Korea again and again using sending a picture of my broken tooth. She said I have to go the dentist. So, I went the Korean dentist in Ann Arbor so that I could explain well about my situation. Fortunately, he is the expert about temporary treatment. He completely filled my broken tooth with amalgam.
     Now, I can eat any foods and bite anything, but sometimes I have to bite using only right side because my broken tooth is still very weak and I always have to pay attention to my teeth until December. Due to this happening, I decided that I will never eat chicken ribs’ again. Also, it makes me have a care about health and any accident which may happen again.

 

Causes of the endangered animals’ extinction

 

     Like individual animals, animal species also eventually die out. A species is endangered when it is in immediate danger of dying out completely. Its numbers are dangerously low, and it needs protection in order to survive. The Siberian tiger and giant panda are famous examples. Today, animals are disappearing at the appalling rate. Most species are threatened by environment’s pollution, habitats’ destruction, and unreasonable exploitations by people. 

     Even though there are a lot of regulations for hunting and fishery, some people still illegally hunt endangered animals. In the past the environment changes caused the greatest influence on extermination of species, however now the human do a role of that. With uncontrolled hunting, many species die out every year. Especially, since the people wear the clothes being made by animal skins, more species have been threatened by unreasonable hunting and poaching. The very high demand for animal’s parts for certain foods or medicine is another example. A price of these parts is so high that people kill the endangered animals even though it is against the law. For these reasons, the illegal trade of endangered animals is still prevalent behind law.

     Additionally, the global warming is also important reason about extinction of animal species. The global warming has caused increase of temperature, change of precipitation, and unforeseen weather phenomena. Especially, the current global warming is moving much faster than speed that the animals can adapt to changed environment, therefore every ecosystem is changing rapidly. The polar is a typical example of the results by the global warming. They usually hunt seals walking above the frozen sea. However, as years go by, freezing speed of the sea was delayed, so hunting became difficult. Therefore they had no choice but to dying of hunger. The decrease of amounts of overall arctic ice causes that the polar sometimes die by drowning.

The main cause of species endangerment is humanity’s destructions of both water and land habitats. People have destroyed a great number of forests because of economic development and industrialization. Deforestation and soil, air and water pollution can destroy all habitats. It can then cause a large number of animals or plants to die. Furthermore, the developments for forests cause the inflow of new viruses. They usually don’t have immune system against the infection of a new virus, so it can cause the extermination of endangered species.

In conclusion, for these reasons a large number of species are facing the crisis of extermination. First, in order to protect animals from the extermination of species, public awareness of this issue is important. People have got to make an effort to reserve the forest and nature, because there are habitats for wild animals. To leave the good quality of the nature to future generations, we must protect plant and animal species not only now, but also in the future.
